Both Stanhope and Bishop Auckland are close by, providing you with access to amenities as well as transport links. If you are looking for caravan parks in the North East or Durham to spend your time on, this site is perfect.

Stanhope is a beautiful market village sat on the bank of the River Wear in County Durham. Generally referred to as the ‘capital’ of Weardale – Stanhope is home to around 4,500 people – although this number includes some small villages in the surrounding area.

Pronounced ‘Stanup’ – The village lays between the villages of Eastgate and Frosterly on the A689 – the north side of Weardale – a stones throw from more local villages and markets.

Only an hours drive from Newcastle, Sunderland, Hartlepool, Middlesbrough and Darlington, Stanhope is home to some lovely country pubs, traditional butchers, bakers and fruit and vegetable shops, which makes the town a perfect retreat from that city hustle and bustle.

  • The site is also pet friendly. However, the site asks that dogs are kept on a lead and cleaned up after.
