  Challaborough Bay Beach, a secluded horseshoe cove with a sandy beach and rugged cliffs, is right on the doorstep and proudly holds the prestigious Blue Flag award. This gem, part of the South Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), is perfect for surfing, with waves suitable for all skill levels.

  The bustling park is brimming with activities that’ll keep the whole family entertained and is the perfect base for exploring Devon. Pay a visit to the beach and take some surfing lessons, jump into the indoor swimming pool or try your luck in the amusement arcade – the world’s your oyster at Challaborough Bay! Nearby, you can ride the famous sea tractor to explore the historic Burgh Island which boasts art deco architecture and a restaurant visited by Agatha Christie.   Dive into the indoor heated pool, unwind in the sauna, or join in on the fun with Aqua Paddlers and Wiped Out sessions. Kids will love the adventure playground and soft play area, while the sports court offers excitement for all ages. Adults can get creative at the arts and crafts events, take up line dancing, or enjoy a peaceful yoga class. *Please note, the indoor pool is open from 13/03/26 – 02/11/26.

  For those who enjoy a traditional seaside experience, there’s nothing quite like tucking into some freshly prepared fish and chips from the Fish & Chippery. Fancy a sit-down dinner with the family? The Waterfront Bar and Restaurant offers a varied menu to satisfy every palate, from lite-bites to hearty pub classics.

  Ride the sea tractor out to historic Burgh Island or head to the pretty village of Salcombe and watch the boats sail in and out of the harbour. Or, if you’re feeling active, you’ll find miles of rugged coastal paths to explore.

  Visit Plymouth’s National Marine Aquarium, Woodlands Theme Park, Crealy Theme Park and Resort or hit the beach for swimming, surfing and paddleboarding. The nearby town of Bigbury-on-Sea offers a surf school and beach shop, adding to the coastal charm.

• Pet Friendly

  Challaborough Bay is a pet friendly site. Please note: Dogs aren’t allowed on the beach from 1st May to 30th September. However, year-round pet-friendly beaches, such as Bigbury Beach or Bantham Beach are both less than a 30 minute drive from the park.
