  Perhaps one of the main features of Akebar is The Friar’s Head Pub. Stunning spaces, cosy corners and delicious food; The Friars Head is a beautiful venue in a truly stunning location. The main bar area takes its inspiration from the countryside; with flagged stone floors, painted beams, neutral heritage colours and a roaring log fire, it offers hand pulled craft ales, wines and cocktails and a wide ranging menu from light meals to a la carte. This leads to the Garden Room with its large leather sofas and relaxed vibe. During the day, the Garden Room is a light and airy space to enjoy the views of the golf course and hills beyond the lawn and bowling green. In the evening, cosy lighting and underfloor heating make this an intimate and welcoming place to unwind.

  Welcome to Akebar Golf – one of Yorkshire’s most interesting courses. Whether you’re a complete novice, a seasoned golfer, or simply wish to play a leisurely game the 18-hole golf course at Akebar Park is designed to accommodate your entire range of golfing needs. They  are a very friendly club and welcome all ranges of golfers. As one of the most beautiful courses in the Yorkshire Dales, the course rises gently uphill through streams and woodland and is surrounded by stunning scenery, including a spectacular view form the Jubilee Beacon at the highest point of the course.
  In addition to the charming golf course, if you’re looking for some good old-fashioned entertainment for the whole family, the 9-hole crazy golf course is a true crowd pleaser!

  If you visit with younger members of your family, they will be nothing less than delighted with our play area, filled with all the apparatus they need and more for the ultimate playtime adventure.
